- And every 26 seconds a person calls the American Cancer Society hot line for help.
- This year in our area local patients and their families received 6,091 services through our patient programs.
- 82 patients from our area received support through Reach to Recovery for breast cancer and Man to Man for prostate cancer.
- 212 patients from our community received 3,198 transportation services to and from treatment.
- 41 patients from our area received free lodging at one of Florida’s Hope Lodges while undergoing treatment.
- 47 local children and families received support through our Reaching Out to Cancer Kids program.
- 30 kids this summer will attend R.O.C.K camp and 17 young cancer survivors attended college on a R.O.C.K scholarships.
- This year we have issued more than $14 million in grants for research in the state of Florida.
- We have invested more than $3.2 billion in research since 1946 and have funded 44 scientists who have won the Nobel prize.
- We fought for the states tobacco tax by 1$ per pack and won which helps Florida’s youth tobacco prevention program.
