In order to recognize our major contributors in the fight against cancer, we’d like to introduce the Laureate Society. Our purpose is to acknowledge your extraordinary philanthropic commitment to the American Cancer Society. This nationwide program, inaugurated in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2004, is intended to honor those individuals who continue to significantly invest in the hope of a future without cancer. Currently Florida has six Laureate Societies:
- Island of Palm Beach
- North Palm Beaches
- Naples
- Sarasota
- Jacksonville
- Tampa

Membership Benefits
- Group Prestige and Recognition: Membership in the Laureate Society is very exclusive. It requires an annual gift of at least $10,000. Members have exclusive privileges and recognition.
- Personal Cancer Advisor: The Personal Cancer Advisor (PCA) is a benefit fulfilled by the National Home Office. If a member or family member is facing a new cancer diagnosis the National Home Office will assign a PCA to them. The PCA helps the member navigate the medical system, puts the member in touch with experts across the country, and gives counsel to the patient. The PCA does not give specific medical advice.
- Ability To Restrict Gifts: Members may choose from a menu of funding opportunities offered by the Florida Division. This menu includes priority funding needs determined by the Florida Division. Funding packages range from $10,000 to $1 million.
- Newsletter: The Laureate Society newsletter is called the Benefactor. It is a four page newsletter featuring pictures and articles about the members and their Laureate Society. It may include special event photographs and articles. A section is reserved for mission related messages. It is produced by the Florida Division office and distributed by the Local Unit office.
- Breaking News Alerts: Members of the Laureate Society are informed of breaking news when it occurs. They are sent emails and faxes from the National Home Office.
